Who you are hiring
Nearly forty years in the trade. One small town to answer to.
Mike Herrick started in HVAC in 1987, ran his own company in Denver, and managed departments for a Roaring Fork Valley contractor before he and Amber opened Patriot Heating and Cooling in Meeker, the town they have called home for more than twenty years. Mike, Travis and Joey handle the installs and service calls. Amber, Brianna and Tawni run the office: scheduling, estimates, financing and the rebate paperwork.

Our specialty is the system you don’t see.
Most of what we install is ductless: Mitsubishi Electric and LG mini-split systems that heat and cool room by room with no ductwork. We size them for altitude and real Colorado winters, set the outdoor unit on a proper stand, and run every line set in a channel color-matched to the house.

Mitsubishi hyper-heating models are rated to keep producing heat well below zero, which is what January asks of them at 6,000 feet. We tell you plainly when a furnace is still the better answer.

One outdoor unit can run several indoor heads, each with its own control. Heat the bedroom, leave the guest room alone, and add a head to the room that has never been comfortable.

Line sets run in rigid channel, color-matched to the siding or trim and tucked into the architecture, so the outside of the house looks like nothing happened.

Free site visit
Every estimate request gets one free site visit. We measure, look at the existing equipment and electrical, talk through options, and send a written estimate with rebate and financing options where they apply.

Once you accept, we order the equipment, give you a timeline and hold to it. Installs are clean, line sets are hidden, and we walk the system with you before we leave. One-year installation warranty on everything we put in.

We do not run a 24-hour emergency line. We will tell you up front when the next opening is, and if you cannot wait, the office will point you to someone who can get there sooner.

Everyone at PHC was highly professional, and extremely nice and supportive. They provided all the info needed to make a good decision and no pressure. The installation was quick, components installed neatly, and every bit of debris cleaned up after. Communication was stellar all the way through, with the amazing Brianna and Amber in the office and Mike and associates on-site.
They removed my broken and very old HVAC system and installed a Mitsubishi 5-zone mini split system in just 2 days. The team ran all the piping cleanly through the crawl space and walls, with precise attention to detail. Financing is available through Synchrony and FTL Financing, with a quick pre-qualification that does not affect your credit score and options across a range of credit situations. We will walk you through it at the estimate.

Heat pumps and mini-splits often qualify for rebates from your electric utility. Our office helps with the paperwork for Xcel Energy, Holy Cross Energy and other local programs, so you are not chasing forms after the install.

Do you offer emergency or after-hours service?
No. We schedule service calls during business hours, first come, first served, and we tell you up front when the next opening is. If we are booked out and you cannot wait, Amber will point you to someone who can get there sooner.
Is the estimate free?
Yes. Every estimate request includes one free site visit and a written estimate. Service and diagnostic calls are billed, and if a repair turns into a replacement on the same visit, what you paid for the diagnostic comes off the installation bid. Call or text (970) 706-9717 to get on the schedule.
Which brands do you install?
Mitsubishi Electric and LG for ductless and heat pump systems, and YORK for furnaces and central air. We repair and maintain most residential and light commercial equipment regardless of brand.
Will a heat pump actually keep up in a Meeker winter?
The cold-climate Mitsubishi models we install are rated to keep producing heat well below zero. We size for your elevation and your house, not the brochure, and we will tell you plainly which setup fits, including when a furnace is the better answer. More on heat pumps.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes. Offices, churches, shops, healthcare facilities and other light commercial buildings across our service area, including multi-furnace replacements and ventilation and makeup-air systems.
What warranty comes with an install?
A one-year Patriot installation warranty on everything we install, on top of the manufacturer’s equipment warranty. Qualifying Mitsubishi systems carry an extended 12-year parts and compressor warranty through the Diamond Contractor program.
